John H. Howard

After 36 years in sole practice, Mr. Howard joined the Lowthorp, Richards, McMillan, Miller & Templeman firm as Of Counsel in 2014. Although he retains his own autonomy within the law firm, he has the benefits of all of the resources available at this prestigious firm to assist his clients.

John Howard served as President of Ventura County Trial Association in 1992, he was President of the Ventura County Bar Association in 1997, and President of the California Coast Chapter of American Board of Trial Advocates in 2004. Mr. Howard was honored to receive the Trial Lawyer of the Year recognition by Cal-ABOTA in 2021 and was voted Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Ventura County Trial Lawyer’s Association in 2006 and 2016. John was voted Pro Bono Attorney of the Year by the Ventura County Bar Association in 2011. John has served on the Ventura County Judicial Nominations Evaluation Committee (2002-2008), he has served as National Representative for ABOTA (2005-2023), and received the Civility Award from the ABOTA (California Coast Chapter) in 2010.

John was a Lt. Commander in the United States Naval Reserve from 1987-1999. In 1987 John served as President of the Ventura County branch of the Southern California Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, and has coached Varsity Football and Baseball for Villanova Preparatory School from 2003 to 2023. John and his wife, JoAnn, have a daughter and a son and live in Ojai.

Tamara Moore

Tamara Moore is a legal assistant with over 35 years of civil litigation experience. She has handled all types of cases from inception through trial, from automobile accidents to complex litigation involving hundreds of parties. Tamara specializes in litigation support, trial exhibit presentation, expert and lay witness coordination, and research. She has also been heavily involved with the Ventura County community over the years serving as Division Director and Assistant Commissioner on the board of AYSO Region 39, serving as Treasurer and Fundraising Coordinator for El Rio ASA Softball, Coaching Softball for the Ventura Tri-Valley League, and was active in raising funds for the Rio Mesa High School Athletic Booster Club.
